CWE-125  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.112, 6.18.54, 7.2.8 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds through improper validation of the netif index in the t7xx_ccmni_recv_skb function. An attacker can cause the driver to read memory outside the bounds of the intended array by crafting packets with an out-of-range index, potentially leading to unintended memory access or system instability.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
