CWE-125  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.271, 5.15.222, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.112, 6.18.55, 7.2.9 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow in the pn533_acr122_is_rx_frame_valid function. An attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds read by supplying a crafted USB response frame with a manipulated ccid.datalen field, causing the driver to access memory outside the intended buffer.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
