CWE-125  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.271, 5.15.222, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.112, 6.18.55, 7.2.9 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds in the nvkm_clk_ustate_update process. An attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds read by supplying a crafted pstate id from userspace via the 'pstate' debugfs file, causing the code to dereference a pointer outside the bounds of the valid list.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
