How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.2, 6.7, 6.11, 6.18.56, 7.2.10 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Locking in the smb3_zero_range process. An attacker can cause stale data to be read from a range that was expected to be zeroed by triggering a scenario where dirty data is not properly flushed before the zeroing operation, leading to the possibility of old data being written back after the zeroing command is issued.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
