Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition ('Infinite Loop') in the sctp_assoc_update_retran_path process. An attacker can cause the system to enter a livelock state, potentially leading to resource exhaustion or denial of service, by manipulating SCTP transport states so that all transports remain in the UNCONFIRMED state, preventing the loop from terminating.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
