CWE-120  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.271, 5.15.222, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.111, 6.18.53 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow in the isofs process when handling set_blocksize failures. An attacker can cause a system crash or disrupt service by mounting a filesystem with a block size greater than the supported PAGE_SIZE, leading to a buffer overrun during the __bread_gfp call.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
