Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow in the integrity_metadata process when handling a discard operation with a large tag size. An attacker can cause the system to enter an infinite loop and exhaust resources by triggering discard operations with tag sizes larger than the buffer, leading to a denial of service.
Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability.
