CVE-2021-3714  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-200  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

There is no fixed version for torvalds/linux.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Information Exposure due to a flaw in the memory deduplication mechanism. Previous work has shown that memory deduplication can be attacked via a local exploitation mechanism exploitable by an attacker that can upload page-sized files and detect the change in access time from a networked service to determine if the page has been merged.

Mitigation:

Deactivation of memory deduplication, thus mitigating every attack vector. This mitigation has a potentially significant impact on system performance and stability, so it should be carefully tested prior to deployment.
