CVE-2013-6431  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 3.11.5 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Access Restriction Bypass. The fib6_add function in net/ipv6/ip6_fib.c in the Linux kernel before 3.11.5 does not properly implement error-code encoding, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) by leveraging the CAP_NET_ADMIN capability for an IPv6 SIOCADDRT ioctl call.
