The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Information Exposure via the memory deduplication mechanism. An attacker can leak sensitive information by timing the unmap to merge with the victim's page, which depends on whether it merges with the victim's page and additional physical pages are created beyond the KSM's "max page share".
Note:
This is only exploitable if the attacker and the victim share the same host and the default setting of KSM is "max page sharing=256".
This vulnerability can be mitigated by deactivating memory deduplication, which will effectively mitigate all attack vectors but may impact system performance and stability. It is recommended to carefully test this workaround before deployment. Additionally, limiting access to services by disabling services and firewall rules can reduce the risk of successful exploitation by restricting the number of systems an attacker can use to launch an attack from.
