Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the ntfs_build_permissions_posix function. An attacker can corrupt heap memory and potentially execute arbitrary code or escalate privileges by providing a crafted NTFS image containing a security descriptor with multiple ACCESS_DENIED ACEs that include WRITE_OWNER from different group SIDs. This is only exploitable if the SUID-root binary is used to process a malicious NTFS image.
