CVE-2026-29009  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-120  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade u-boot to version 2026.07-rc2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow in the nfs_readlink_reply function when handling NFS READLINK responses. An attacker can corrupt adjacent memory and potentially gain control over the NFS client state machine by sending multiple crafted READLINK responses with large relative symlink targets, causing the buffer to overflow. This is only exploitable if the CONFIG_CMD_NFS configuration option is enabled.
