Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Access of Uninitialized Pointer in the DNSSEC validation while calculating write offsets for ADDITIONAL section rrsets when constructing chase-reply messages. An attacker can cause the resolver process to crash by sending a specially crafted DNS query that triggers dereference of an uninitialized pointer due to incorrect write offset calculation.
