CWE-358  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improperly Implemented Security Check for Standard via the handling of expired DNSSEC records. An attacker can cause temporary misresolution of legitimate DNS records by injecting replayed wildcard DNSSEC data, leading to the caching of poisoned records and potential information disclosure. This is only exploitable if the serve-expired configuration option is enabled.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling the serve-expired feature in the configuration.
