CVE-2026-52858  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-94  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade vim/vim to version 9.2.0561 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Arbitrary Code Injection in the python3complete.vim script when the +python3 interpreter is enabled, or in the legacy pythoncomplete.vim for builds with the +python interpreter. An attacker can execute arbitrary Python code as the editing user by crafting a malicious .py file with a sibling Python package and invoking omni-completion, which causes the package's top-level code to run due to the buffer's working directory being on sys.path.
