CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade wazuh/wazuh to version 4.7.2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow due to the handling of Unicode characters from Windows Eventchannel messages. An attacker can execute arbitrary code remotely by exploiting the buffer overflow vulnerability.

Workaround

The only workaround is to prevent agents 3.8+ from reporting Eventchannel messages.
