Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Insertion of Sensitive Information Into Sent Data in the state management process. An attacker can obtain sensitive user information by tricking a user into visiting a malicious website that leverages web extensions to track user activity. This is only exploitable if the affected system has specific packages installed and is used via a graphical interface to process untrusted web content, such as through GNOME.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding visits to untrusted websites and not processing or loading untrusted web content with the affected software. Additionally, removing certain dependent packages or using the system via a terminal interface can reduce exposure.
