Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Timing Attack in the PKCS#7 EnvelopedData decryption process using RSA PKCS#1 v1.5, where distinguishable error codes were returned depending on whether padding validation failed or the decrypted content was malformed. An attacker can recover the encrypted Content Encryption Key (CEK) by submitting crafted EnvelopedData messages and analyzing the error responses.
