Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation in the certificate verification process when the X509_V_FLAG_PARTIAL_CHAIN verify flag is enabled. An attacker can bypass certificate trust validation by presenting a certificate chain that ends at an attacker-controlled intermediate certificate, which may be incorrectly accepted as a trust anchor.
