CWE-295  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade wolfSSL/wolfssh to version 5.9.2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation due to the acceptance of an un-negotiated raw public key in place of an X.509 certificate, bypassing certificate chain validation in the ParseCertRelative process. An attacker can impersonate a trusted entity or perform man-in-the-middle attacks by presenting a raw public key without proper negotiation or validation. This is only exploitable if Raw Public Key support (HAVE_RPK) is enabled.
