Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation due to improper enforcement of CA name constraints when processing certificates containing wildcard DNS SANs. An attacker can obtain a certificate with a wildcard DNS SAN that should be restricted by the CA's permitted or excluded DNS name constraints and have it accepted, potentially enabling unauthorized access to restricted domains.
