Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Reachable Assertion through the uart_configure process. An attacker can cause a system crash by supplying unsupported configuration values for parity, data bits, stop bits, or flow control, which leaves the LPUART peripheral clocks disabled and results in a hard fault on subsequent register access. This is only exploitable if CONFIG_UART_USE_RUNTIME_CONFIGURE is enabled and an unprivileged userspace thread has access to an LPUART device.
