CVE-2026-6665  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Wolfi pgbouncer to version 1.25.2-r0 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pgbouncer package and not the pgbouncer package as distributed by Wolfi. See How to fix? for Wolfi relevant fixed versions and status.

The SCRAM code in PgBouncer before 1.25.2 did not check the return value of strlcat() correctly when building the contents of the SCRAM client-final-message. A malicious backend that sends a SCRAM server-final-message with a long nonce can trigger a stack overflow.
