How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:16.0.0 kernel-kvmsmall to version 6.12.0-160000.37.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream kernel-kvmsmall package and not the kernel-kvmsmall package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:16.0.0 relevant fixed versions and status.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: validate count before reading Status Update VDO

A broken/malicious device can send the incorrect count for a status update VDO, which will cause the kernel to read uninitialized stack data and send it off elsewhere.

Fix this up by correctly verifying the count for the update object.
