Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the read_schema_dse and schema_oc_to_string functions when the length of the oc_superior field is not included in buffer size calculations but is still written to the buffer. An attacker can cause a server crash and potentially impact integrity and availability by creating objectclasses with excessively long SUP values through Directory Manager privileges or a compromised replication supplier.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting Directory Manager access, auditing replication agreements, monitoring cn=schema modifications for unusually long SUP values, and restricting LDAP replication traffic to trusted networks.

Note:

This issue is due to the incomplete fix of CVE-2025-14905.
