CWE-476  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade ffmpeg to version 5.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference via the decode_main_header() function in the libavformat/nutdec.c file. The flaw occurs because the function lacks a check of the return value of avformat_new_stream() and triggers the null pointer dereference error, causing an application to crash.
