Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Stack-based Buffer Overflow via the load_image function in the plug-ins/common/file-iff.c file. An attacker can execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted malicious LBM file.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the opening of untrusted LBM files and, if not essential, removing the application using the system's package manager.
