Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the read_channel_data function when processing Paint Shop Pro (PSP) image files. An attacker can execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service by convincing a user to open a specially crafted PSP image file.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the opening of untrusted Paint Shop Pro (PSP) image files and only processing image files from trusted sources. If the application is not essential, consider removing it to eliminate the attack surface.
